On the evening of Wednesday September 16th friends and members of Gates Mills Land Conservancy gathered at the Chagrin Valley Hunt Club for our Annual Meeting and Member Dinner.
It was a lovely evening for mingling with friends and neighbors on the veranda during the cocktail hour. After dinner President John Kramer and Honorary Director Tom Liederbach shared several of GMLC's highlights from the past year. Among last years highlights are the 41-acre Sherman Road Preserve on the corner of Sherman Road and County Line, and the 10-acre Hays Woods project located at Carpenter Road and Mayfield Road.
To conclude the evening Harvey Webster of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History presented entertaining and informative presentation "Romancing the Eagle: The Recovery of the Bald Eagle in Ohio." Harvey chronicled the history of the Bald Eagle in Ohio and CMNH's role in ensuring their survival in the Chagrin River Valley and Ohio.
The meeting also marked a few changes of our Board. It was the last day of President John Kramer's tenure. We are very grateful to him for his leadership, time, and dedication. Vice President Cindy Altus was elected to take his place as President, and Andy Kirkpatrick was elected to the office of Vice President. Cindy Zins and Rob Galloway were reelected to the offices of Treasurer and Secretary respectively.
Thank you to all who attended and to all who support Gates Mills Land Conservancy.
